Harvest Notes: The 2009 season unfolded nicely, finishing in August with some temperatures in the 100s, followed by rains and harvest in October with good color and seed ripening.
Tasting Notes: Eugenia is the best of our vintage, and this 2009 is a showstopper right from the opening. Aromas of generous dark fruit, plum, cassis, and spicy currant, with blackberry and sweet exotic vanilla and tuberose appear as it begins to open up. The depth and intensity of the palate is a little surprising after such a lovely nose. Deep rich flavors of blackberry and dark licorice are balanced by graceful oak and vanilla. The wine rolls without fighting into a smooth long and elegant finish, velvety right down to the end.
